It’s a tough life but someone’s got to be holed up for a week in Vermont reading, writing and sampling the maple syrup.

We’ve had a brilliant week of “down time”, based just outside of Montpelier in Vermont enjoying the autumn here. I’ve been working on my novel (draft six) and dipping in to the books on the well stocked bookshelves of our wonderful hosts. It’s been bliss. No TV, only a DVD player and Wi Fi – so we’ve been just connected enough to the outside world and have even managed a couple of Skype calls to family and friends. Anyway, no real excitement to report but I can highly recommend such a week: home cooked organic food, sleeping late and plenty of time for walks and reading.
